In order for you to be able to access your web pages online, you must upload the files to your web root directory. Here is where your web root is located:
/public_html/
You can also create folders within the root directory and upload them within the created folder, for example: /public_html/images/img1.jpg.
For add-on domains, these may be located within public_html or outside (above) it and files for those domains should be uploaded to the respective directory instead.
